We take great pride in providing our feline family with a safe, secure, and healthy environment, so that each may reach his fullest potential. Alas, it is sometimes necessary for us to find certain kitties a new, loving home. Unlike a pet-shop, our kitties are not "for sale;" they are available for adoption to approved homes only, with an adoption agreement to ensure their lifelong care. The following describes the types of kitties that are sometimes available for adoption:
Adoption Begins With Research
Adopting from the Diehl Cattery
A "pet" is a beautiful, healthy, purebred kitten that is better suited for a loving pet home, rather than show-ring competition. Most pet kittens do not exibit all of the physical qualities of a show quality specimen, however they have the same wonderful personality. Time constraints prevent us from showcasing pets here; call or email for availability.
A "retiree" is a gorgeous young adult kitty who is ready to retire from the rigors of showing and raising a family in order to become a cherished, pampered pet. Most retirees are show-quality; let us know some if you are looking for a kitty to show in the Premiership class.

Only a small percentage of purebred kittens have what it takes to become show winners and sucessful breeders. Most of these superb examples of their breed stay with us to perpetuate the Diehl bloodline; a select few are available each year to responsible catteries only.

Please help us spend more time with our cats by providing the following information when you contact us:
- tell us about yourself, your familly, and other pets in your household
- specify what type of kitty you're interested in (longhair or shorthair, pet or retiree, ect.)
- review our Adoption Contract
- find the answers to basic questions on our F.A.Q. page.
Persians and Exotics are virtually identical in personality; they are quiet, laid-back pets that appreciate a quiet, laid-back environment. The major difference between the two is a matter of grooming. Both longhairs and shorthairs will benefit greatly from daily combing and face washing. However, a longhair requires more frequent bathing, (at least once a month,) and possibly shaving of the coat in the summer time.
We believe that the decision to adopt a pet is one that should be taken seriously, as a commitment should be made for the entire lifetime of the pet. For a domestic cat, this could be 18 years, or even longer. Thus, it is imperative to select the cat or kitten that best suits your individual personality and lifestyle. And that takes research. To make the research process a bit easier, we have compiled a wealth of information to answer the most commonly asked questions about adoption on our
